Wawel. With origins in the 10th century, Krakow's majestic castle mixes: Medieval, Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque styles and stands testament to Poland's long and turbulant history.In this, the nation's ancient royal seat.Complete with a gold trimmed cathedral and museum, the complex was home to kings and queens for over 500 years.

The "Rynek Glowny" or main market square, is the largest Medieval square in Poland, lined with cafes, galleries, shops and more, the market square is a meeting place for pedestrians, students and tourists alike.In the center stands the "Sukiennice", or Cloth Hall. was and is a major trade destination with amber, leather and trinkets since the 14th century.Find 19th century Polish paintings in the museum upstairs.

Over 200 years in the making, St.Mary's Cathedral casts an imposing shadow over the main market square.With architecture ranging from Gothic to Art Noveau, St.Mary's is a must see.Ask a local about the violent legends behind the asymetrical towers and the hourly"hejnal" trumpet call.

Czartoryski Museum. This museum houses one of Poland's most interesting collections.The greatest paintings, da Vinci's "Lady with an Ermine" and Rembrandt's "Landscape with Good Samaritan", are not to be missed.

Built in the 16th century. Hotel Floryan was, for a long time, owned by famous innkeepers. The house is named "glowinska", after the original owner Andrzej Glowa. Four hundred years ago, the original entrance was in the present day basement where people have been enjoying food and drink for centuries.
